Ilona Haghshenas

Ilona Haghshenas is an architect and Studio Principal of the Auckland studio at Warren and Mahoney, one of Aotearoa New Zealand's leading architecture and design practices. With more than 25 years of experience across New Zealand, Ireland and the United Kingdom, she has led the design and delivery of major civic, commercial, cultural and community projects that shape the fabric of cities and the lives of the people who inhabit them. A passionate advocate for the role of design in creating thriving, resilient communities, Ilona believes the quality of our living, working and public environments has a direct impact on wellbeing, productivity, connection and a sense of belonging. Her expertise spans strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, urban development and the delivery of complex, city-shaping projects. At Warren and Mahoney, she leads multidisciplinary teams focused on designing places that contribute positively to the social, cultural and economic success of Aotearoa's cities. As a Board member of Committee for Auckland, Ilona is committed to collaborating with leaders across business, government and the community sector to help shape a more sustainable, inclusive and prosperous future for Auckland and the wider region.
