Mark Thomas

Mark Thomas is Managing Director of Serviceworks, an Auckland-based urban systems and technology advisory business working across New Zealand, Australia and Southeast Asia. He is regional lead for the Smart Cities Council and works in city development, transport, mobility, infrastructure resilience and technology-enabled decision-making. He is co-chair of TechNZ’s Sustainability board, and an advisory board member of Smart Cities Asia among other roles. He is a regular international speaker and commentator on urban systems issues. As a director of the Committee for Auckland, he has co-led the State of the City benchmarking programme. He brings more than fifteen years of governance and advisory experience across public, private and not-for-profit organisations.
